David W Barrow was born in Parbold in 1960. This is where David Barrow’s early years were spent before moving to Wigan.
David Barrow began painting seriously at the age of 19. David Barrow is proud of his home and has vividly captured it in a number of well-regarded oil paintings featuring the life and heritage of both Parbold and Wigan.
David Barrow’s paintings have been featured four times in the summer exhibition at the prestigious Royal Academy in London.
David Barrow has also exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy of Fine Art and Manchester Academy of Fine Art. In addition one of david Barrow’s portrait paintings was exhibited at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
David Barrow’s commissions include work for Wigan Council, Liverpool Football Club, Wigan Rugby Club and Wigan Athletic Football Club. david Barrow has also been asked on two occasions to supply the artwork for Ocean Colour Scene album covers. David Barrow’s paintings provided the covers for both “Live at the Jam House” and “Live at the Town Hall”.
